I don’t know what made the rogues decide that it was time to release us, but I’m grateful with how fast it seemed to happen. Poor little Henry was so uncomfortable and upset because we had run out of things for him.

We sit in the back of a van, and I hear someone snap at us, “Get that baby to shut up!”

I roll my eyes, it’s not like I’m not trying! But I’m not his mother, I can’t just have milk for him twenty-four seven!

They slam the breaks as they bring us to a stop, causing me to fall and hurt my shoulder from trying to prevent Henry from getting hurt. The back door opens, and I see Ross and he grumbles, “Come on.”

I hurry to my feet and get out of the van. He brings me near our pack and tells me, “Just keep walking straight and you’ll be across pack lines.”

I nod and scurry to move away from him, but he grabs my upper arm and says, “I’ll see you again soon, Amelia.”
