Bennett sits across from me in my office as he flips through a folder that I gave him. I’m having to teach him all about the businesses that we run so that if I’m ever absent, he will be able to keep things running smoothly.

The door bursts open and I see Bennett’s mate, Grace, looking frantic as her eyes flicker between us. Bennett stands up, alarmed by her sudden arrival, and he walks toward her pulling her in his arms as he asks, “What’s going on, darling?”

She looks at me and says, “I’m so sorry to have disturbed you, Alpha. But Amelia isn’t back with Henry yet. She’s always back home by 6, but it’s 6:15 and I can’t get in contact with her. I’m scared something’s wrong.”
