Todd looked at the clock ticking every second and his brow furrowed, the time is 9:00am and Amber wasn’t at the office yet, she should have at least called in sick or something, he thought. Todd woke up with a start after falling asleep on the wheels while waiting for Jen to exit Amber’s building, he wondered if Jen was still inside or she had left, to be sure he placed a call to Alice.“hey, do you know if Amber’s guest is still with her or if she's left"He asked when Alice picked up“no, She is still in there” Alice said and Todd hung up.After thinking for a while he started the car ignition, turned back and left.The next day at work, Amber came in to work and was summoned to Todd’s office, she tapped on the lightly and opened the door.“You called" she saidTodd raised his head to look at her, he noticed her dull eyes and somewhat sad countenance and he felt bad that he had made her sad, he unconsciously reached out his hands to draw her closer and comfort her but Amber moved back abruptly, her movement was too fast that she missed a step and was falling, Todd rushed out of his seat and grabbed her hand trying to safe her but they both fell flat on the ground with

When they got to the hospital, Amber’s knee had already been wrapped up with a band aid and she was thanking the nurse who attended to her, Todd heaved a sigh of relief when he saw her in one piece, he placed a hand on his chest and took three deep breath before moving into the room completely, Carl stopped at the door and nodded at Amber, she nodded, acknowledging his greeting, she looked at the nurse as she walked out of her room then turned her face to the side, biting her lip she closed her eyes squeezing it tight as if willing Todd to disappear but when she opened her eyes and turned to check he was sitting on the chair by her bedside, the gentle look in his eyes was her undoing, she couldn’t look away from him, she bite her lower lip nervously and Todd held her hand tenderly.“I was so scared, I thought I’d lose you too" he said gentlyAmber was moved by his words, she tried to respond to him but there was a lump in her throat and her words sounded hoarse, she cleared her throat

Todd hung up the call and stomped his feet on the ground, he couldn’t believe Amber chose to tell someone about their relationship despite the current situation and she chose the worse person, a person he had been suspecting since the day he saw Petra at the restaurant while he was spying on Amber, he had followed Petra that day out of suspicion, he was shocked to see Jen talking to Petra, he had been suspecting her since then but has no evidence to proof his suspicion. His head was bursting with lots of thoughts.
