I looked back at the driver who gave a slight bow to Xander before he left. The connection was clear: Xander's knowing look could only mean one thing - he had been informed about the driver's plan to bring me here.

Then, I turned to Xander who folded his arms. He spoke, “I thought you agreed to leave.”

I said firmly, “I changed my mind.”

“Why?” He asked, with his eyes locked on mine.

“It's a long story, and I feel concerned about that child. I feel guilty too.”

“Guilty?” he repeated, his brows furrowed.

“Well, I had a nightmare about that child the other night. He died with the same physical symptoms we saw.” I clenched my fists, my voice rising. “If only I had been able to stop the murderer before that incident, all these wouldn't be happening.”

Xander's expression turned thoughtful. “When did you have this nightmare?”

“After the coma, and I think after the argument. I don't really remember.”

“I think we still need to see a doctor.”

“Why? Don't tell me that you think the nightm
