Chapter Twenty

ELENA

I sat comfortably in my chair as I listened to the attendants as they made the necessary announcements. All the while, Jason sat next to me, looking really uncomfortable.

If it were to be anyone else, I would have asked what the problem was, but since I had made it my life's mission to avoid and ignore him, I minded my business.

Before we had left the house, he had come to inform me that the articles had been taken down, and that he had his lawyers give a statement threatening to sue anyone who spreads false narratives me, and our marriage.

I had been thankful of course, but had said nothing after that. Not even when breakfast had arrived, and I had unwillingly had to thank him again for ordering for me.

But then again, Jason had chosen not to mention anything about what had happened the previous night, choosing instead to type away at his phone, while also ignoring me.
