Waking up in the middle of the night, I turn to the side and see that Rupert is still there. He snores lightly. It's not too loud, but the noise is there. I rub my hand gently on his head so as not to wake him. He huffs in his sleep.Looking to the other side where the nightstand is, I look at the clock. 4:34 A.M. Right around that weird time that you could wake up but you could also just go back to sleep. At least for me.I close my eyes to try and sleep, but it evades me. "How long did your doctor say it would take for me to heal?" I ask as I finish up the last of my toast."He said about a week at least. Best if you stay two weeks off your feet," says Dane."Two weeks? The front door opens and I hear feet shuffle in. Pausing my rubbing of Rupert's head, I peek over the edge of the couch and look down into the hallway. I see Dane pulling off his sneakers."Hey," he says with a grin as he straightens up his posture."Hi," I reply as I hop off the couch with Rupert and walk over to Dane, "how was your day?" "Avezedo is probably going to trash-talk me since I've missed so much of his class," I say as I wash the dishes. Breakfast was some scrambled eggs with cheese and sausages.
