A Scheme

Ruby was hesitant to respond, her eyes darting around the corners of the room and back to Blake.

“Yes.” She mumbled a reply.

“F@ck!” Blake exclaimed, briefly covering his mouth with his hand as he looked away from her. He felt a bit flustered by Ruby’s response.

Zane definitely wasn’t a saint. He has been with several girls in the past but it was purely for sex and no string has ever been attached.

But no lady has ever said they loved him. Probably because he’s not looking for love.

“He doesn’t even treat you nicely, how can you…” he was at a loss for words.

“I know, right?” She asked, gaining her confidence a little. “He is always so mean to me yet I can’t control this stupid thing called heart now that we live in the same house.”

“At first I thought it was just a fling but now I’m sure of what I feel, Blake. I’m in love with Zane and it’s driving me crazy. Just seeing him makes me want to touch myself…”

“Ruby!” Blake exclaimed.

Ruby collapsed into her stool, “I do sometimes.
