Chapter Seventy

Emily’s POV

Whatever games the king was playing, I had to give it to him that he was a pro at it and I was just a beginner. I could do nothing but follow him around in hopes of winning his favour. That's not to say I wasn't still hoping for that, though.

He had me locked in exactly where he wanted me to be . At a corner. It made no sense to play these games where you can't see anything so why would anyone want to? But here we were.

He pounced on me like a cat on an unsuspecting mouse, I had to give it to him that he was good at this game.

I had thrown caution to the wind and gone was my rationality now. I couldn't win against him if my life depended on it and I knew that.
