Chapter one hundred and eighteen

“Were you dancing?” I tried not to sound too amused as stared at her in the kitchen.

Her eyes darted everywhere around as if she was searching for an escape route from me, before settling on the sink as she quickly ran water over a sponge and started wiping it down with another one.

She seemed nervous as hell about this whole situation but didn’t seem inclined to tell me anything. I would never understand how people managed to go a whole day without talking.

“I didn't mean to trespass, I just wanted to eat something and I didn't want your maids to be mad at me”

Her voice was quiet.

That was definitely something that hadn't happened before, so that's when my curiosity got the better of me. “My maids? why will they be mad?” I took a seat across from her at the small round table near the kitchen door and put my elbows on it, resting my chin on top.
