Chapter 26

I awoke with a start, gasping for breath and a scream tore past my lips as I sat upright. My eyes looked around my bedroom anxiously for those bright red eyes and long fangs.

However, instead of the dark night and a male vampire, my curtains had been drawn open and the sunshine was peeking into my bedroom. There was nothing of threat around me and I swallowed nervously before looking at my hands that were shaking from fear.

It all had felt so real. Could it possibly have been a dream?

I brought my fingers to my neck where Master Abigor had bitten me yet I felt nothing except my usual skin. No bruise, no pain, nothing of that sort.

I settled down and let out a shaky breath as I brought my knees to my chest and smoothed my hands over my hair. I covered my eyes with my hands and sat in silence for a moment so that I could wrap my head around the fact that I had a terrible dream.
