Chapter 46

Luka-

The scene that now laid before me was that of a park, where Zane and I were playing at. Except instead of being adults, we were just two bratty little ten-year-olds. At first, I was nothing more than a spectator, only able to watch what was happening around me, but still having the ability to think as an adult.

“Are we going to play or not, Luka?” Zane asked, throwing a basketball in my direction. Just like that, I couldn’t even process anything as an adult, as I became the ten-year-old version of myself.

“You are going to pay for that!” I half yelled and half laughed as I threw the ball away and chased after Zane.

We ran around the playground for a while, just having fun and enjoying that for the first time in months, we didn’t have to train. I didn’t know why my mentor, Zane’s father, needed to come to this neighborhood, but I didn’t question it. Any chance I had that I didn’t need to worry about who I was meant to be or who my parents were, was a good day for me.
