Alex scanned her ID the following day as she arrived at the office and immediately proceeded to her cubicle. She placed her bag inside the filing cabinet under her table and automatically turned on her computer.

She heard her phone sound for a message notification.

“Hi, Alex! I’ll be discharge in a few minutes,” Ashley informed in her message. “Malc’s here beside me while we’re waiting for Aunt V from downstairs. Please come home early this afternoon so we can have dinner together. I promise that I will rest today so you don’t need to call from time to time to check on it. I mean it, Alex.”

“I can pass by and buy some dessert later,” Alex replied with a smile, typing on her phone. “How about cheesecake? Anyway, you are going to rest. It’s very tempting right now to just laze all day, doing nothing.”
