Chapter 284: Killing two birds

Frier’s POV

I followed the path I was directed to and it led me to a secluded area that had many doors. Between the corridors I saw Damien standing outside one of them and that’s where I halted my steps.

The door before us was slightly ajar and I could hear Anna’s voice feign ignorance to the questioning.

The urge to go in took the best of my judgement but Damien’s hands withheld my arm.

“Don’t”

His calm tone seemed to make me fight it out and I let out a breath of frustration. It wasn’t like we were going to kill her, I just wanted nothing more that to twist her neck with a slap!

I must be in the spirit of handing out slaps tonight. The thought of this jogged my conversation with Nicklaus and I contemplated telling Damien.

After a brief moment of thinking, I didn’t tell him, not that my telling him would’ve made much difference. What’s done is done and there was nothing he could do about it so it’s best not to bring it up. Right now, let’s focus on the matter at hand!
