Ralph must have raised himself too high, a sense of importance, when he came in and said he wanted to protect Jasper and me.

I had opened the door when I overheard the maids and guards scurrying everywhere, as if they were running away from something.

“The pack is under attack and the Alpha ordered us to hide ourselves in a safe place,” the maid replied to me.

I hurried back into the room and locked it. I quickly ransacked the wardrobe that was present. From my pack, I didn’t bring any of my belongings and it made me angry — now that I needed them.

Finally, I found a leather skirt that had a short attached to it and I put on a sleeve corset. Handcuffs that were convenient for me to swing my knives were also banded to my hands.

I carried Jasper, removed his clothes, and wore him some more comfortable clothes. He was still asleep and I didn’t bother to think about it. He had gone through the stress of running away from my father’s pack. I couldn’t blame the little boy.
