Nothing has been the same ever since Avalon called to reject our mate bond. Before her name flashed across the screen of my phone that day, I was getting ready to go to her. To finally get her back even if it meant going against my father and everything else._ I was going to fucking do it. It was either her or nothing else and I picked her.

But instead of her laughter filtering through the receiver like she used to do after our usual bantering of her refusing to let me know where she was, I heard the ugly voice of hatred echoing through her every word and back at me like a fucking stab to the chest.

Heck, I fucking saw it coming even before the word made it out of her mouth and ripped right through me like a silver bullet. It was worst than anything I have ever felt before. Her words were enough to make me loose my mind for a couple of weeks.
