Jace
The whole table is buzzing and lively. I can't figure out where the conversation began but I am sure as hell that I don't know where it is heading. Amy looks happy. The grin covering her face as Alexa tells her details of her pregnancy can tell it all. I find myself grinning like an idiot against my own will. What is happening to me? Maybe I should bring Amy over more often. Who am I kidding? I just met her yesterday and I expect her to scream 'yes, of course when I ask her to come again. I must be out of my mind.
"So Amy, are you done with college?" Sophia asks Amy. I try shooting a warning glare at her but she smiles unaffected.
"Yes," Amy replies. " I am now working."
"Where do you work?" she continues her interrogation.
"I work for a Publishing Company. I work as an editor," she replies with a smile.
"Which publishing company?" Sophia presses. Oh crap! Will you stop making the girl uncomfortable with your stupid interview? I nearly shout at Sophia but Amy answers politely.
"D.M publishing but I work from home," the smile on her face tells everyone that she loves her job.
"Oh, that's nice," Sophia says.
"Do you live with your family?" Alexa takes another turn.
"No, I live alone. I left my family behind for the good job offer," she answers.
"Okay, David, tell us about your day," I interrupt to save Amy from the uncomfortable interview.
The room is filled with little boy chitchat as David tells us about his day and all the baby talk. At least Amy is not being cornered with questions. The men are behaving. I'm glad they kept their promise or else Amy would already be running to the hills.
Amy helps Sophia and Alexa clear the table. The kids are running wild around the house and Jose is in the kitchen perhaps drinking wine from the fridge. Patrick is in the living room watching TV. Perhaps some sports or something. Dinner was a success and I am happy that Amy was around to add color to the place. The whole house is vibrant. It is no doubt that Amy is liked by everyone around here. Even the little ones cling to her dress as they play hide and seek.
"She is really beautiful," Patrick catches me smiling at Any as she plays with the kids.
"That she is," I say without thinking.
"You love her?" he asks. Do I?
"I don't know," I reply. He smirks and sits beside me.
"What? I just met her yesterday," I say.
"Time is not an issue when you meet someone meant for you," he says.
"What are you talking about?" I am totally confused now.
"It doesn't matter if you met Amy yesterday if you were meant to be together," he explains.
"Are you trying to say that we are fated for each other or something?" I ask.
"What don't you understand? That Amy is your mate?" he asks. Oh my god! I haven't even thought about that. Amy is my mate? Could that even be true?
"You've got to be kidding me," I say. I can't believe it.
"What?" he chuckles. Is he laughing at me?
" She can't be," I whisper. He is laughing now. Loudly.
"What don't you understand? The way you can't bare being away from her even when you just met her? How her scent sticks to your body or how your body reacts when you are near her. You can't be away from her for a long time or your wolf will lose control. You will develop this sense of being overprotective of her. You don't want anything bad to happen to her or to see her annoyed. Haven't you felt that? Are you going to deny that you haven't been running wild having dirty thoughts about seeing her naked? " he lectures.
"Alright, I get it, " I cut him off. He laughs.
"I thought you wouldn't," he says.
"Is that how you were with, you know, Alexa?" I ask. I can't help the embarrassment I feel talking about this with Patrick.
"Yes, but not as fast as you two," he replies.
"Spare me the crap," is everyone going to talk about how fast we are going? It is not like I am marrying her or something.
"You are finally a mated wolf, man," Patrick says while patting my shoulder. I look around to make sure Amy didn't hear what he just said.
"Now you can become the Alpha," he adds.
"Cut it out. I never said anything about being the alpha. Who told you that I was waiting for my mate to come so that I can finally become the alpha?" I fume.
"Calm down man. A man can hope," he says.
"Keep dreaming," I fire back. I get up and walk to the kitchen to find my girl.
She is wiping dishes from the dishwasher. I lean against the doorframe and watch her unnoticed. is she my mate? My long-awaited mate? Now everything about my weird behavior starts getting clear. That is why I walk up early this morning to run to her apartment. I wanted to be near her. No, I needed to be near. I watch as she tucks a stray strand of hair behind her ear and the way her lips split into a tantalizing smile when Sophia cracks a joke.
"Hey, admiring something that is not yours?" Jose's voice beams from behind me.
"Fuck off," I wave him away. Amy is mine. Okay, will be, soon.
"Easy, man," he grins.
"What is to grin about?" I ask while folding my hands in front of my chest.
"Nothing," he replies.
"Just the way you look at Amy. You like her?" he asks.
" Yes," I reply with a firm voice.
"I thought so," he says with an evil smirk.
"So when are you going to breed her?" he asks. My face goes pale.
"No, you prick. Not anytime sooner. Amy is still young," I reply.
"So you will still do it at a later time?" he asks.
"I won't answer that," I reply.
"Thought so," he says.
"You haven't bred Sophia. Why are you bothering me?" I inquire.
"We are still figuring out things," he answers.
"I wish you luck," I say sarcastically.
"Prayer accepted," he says with a smile. I roll my eyes at him as he eyes his mate with adoring eyes.
Amy I had a great time. I haven't been with loving people for a while. Jace's family has filled that hole that has been digging in my heart because of missing my family. My family is not this collected. My parents are divorced. My father is remarried and my mother is with her current boyfriend, Bruce. Bruce is a friendly guy but it is still weird to me that my mother is dating a guy. My parents have been divorced for six years, but seeing them with other partners still surprises me. Divorced or not, they are still my family and I love them both. Perhaps they had their reasons for separating. Who am I to judge them? The kitchen is very large I didn't even notice Jace standing in the doorway staring at me. When I look at him, he gives me a dimpled smile and my skin heats up. I don't know what that is about but I kinda like it. I give him a shy smile and place the dishes that I was wiping into the cupboard. Sophia is still talking about a topic I am not sure I understand. I think she is
Jace My family is so touchy when it comes to my girl. These women keep hugging her and sniffling. She is not going to die. She is just going back to her tiny apartment. Why can't she just sleep over? Who cares if it's her first visit? I have heard of girls who sneak into boys' houses even when the parents have no idea what she looks like. But Amy is not one of those girls, I have to remind myself. She is a composed and sane individual. That is why the kids kiss her on both cheeks and force her to promise to visit again. I feel awkward standing there in the living room and watching the boys speak emotionally to Amy. This is incredible... I don't want to say heartwarming because I am a selfish jerk. Amy keeps smiling and I am thinking she will have to massage her cheeks when she reaches home. "Come on guys. Don't weep Infront of her. You will scare her and she will not want to come back," and I want her to, I don't add that. I have to keep it to myself, in the meantime. "We aren't
Amy My blood is heating up. I can feel hot blood running through my veins. Oh, god! Jace is so close to me that I can breathe in his scent. His manly scent is sexy as hell. He smells like collagen and wood. A strange mixture but has got me intoxicated. "What do I do to you?" I whisper into his hair. "You really want to know?" he inquires in a tone sexy as hell. "Yes," I reply and dare to run my hand over his chest. It feels so hard through his shirt. It is no doubt he works out. "Are you tempting me, Amy?" he asks me with a smile playing on his lips. "I hope so," I reply with a shy smile. "Damn it, Amy," he curses and grasps my waist. He puts me on top of the kitchen counter with my legs engulfing his waist. His lips run across my jaw and his breathing tickles my skin. I purse my lips to stifle a giggle. "I don't think you would want to talk about it," he purrs into my hair. "What? Is it terrifying?" I grin into his neck. "No, the opposite," he says. "Amazing?" I ask. "Tha
Jace I have been sitting at the door to Amy's apartment for hours now. Like a real jerk! She must be asleep by now. What happened? I didn't freak out. My wolf lost control. I started transforming in front of Amy. I could feel my claws digging into Amy's skin. My wolf wanted to mark her. To mark his mate so that everyone will know she is his. Amy is not ready for this. What if she hates me when she finds out exactly who I am? That is all that has been filling my head since I left Amy's kitchen like a chicken. I want to go back in but what will I tell her? She is probably mad at me now. I stand up and stare at the door. "I'm so sorry, Amy," I mutter to myself, remembering the glossy eyes that glared at me with disappointment. Dude, put your shit together, my subconscious screams at me. I turn on my heels and walk out of the apartment block. I walk into the woods remembering the first time I teased Amy about it. Things have been surely happening so fast. My wolf is so eager to burs
AmyI woke up with a light head. I willed myself not to think anything about Jace so that I can focus on my work. I realized that I had lagged behind on the book I was editing. I poured myself some coffee and sat in front of my laptop. I am surprised when I finish the book before one. I haven't eaten anything sensible since morning. I last ate a decent meal at Jace's house. Ugh... There he goes again. He just can't get out of my mind. I can't stop thinking about him. I miss him now.I turn off the laptop and go to the kitchen. I try not to remember that Jace was kissing me on that kitchen counter, but it's hopeless. Jace has probably done something to me. I have never been possessed by someone like this. I have to use possessed because I nolonger have any control over my own feelings. There isn't enough groceries in the kitchen for me to make a decent meal. I hate this day. While I am getting angry at my kitchen, someone knocks at my door. I am not expecti
JaceAmy invites me into her apartment and I enter without thinking twice. I know that I am being too careful with my words but I don't want to ruin this day for Amy and me. I want to be a normal man that Amy wants. She hasn't told me that I am abnormal. Maybe not yet. I really want to show her that I can be a normal boyfriend that she deserves."What are you thinking about?" Amy asks while walking into the kitchen. I follow behind her like a puppy."Nothing. Just you," I reply."What about me?" she inquires, and pours some water for herself into a glass."Everything.""Like?""How nice you are," I reply, and I am rewarded with a smile."Nice?" she raises an eyebrow at me."Yes," I reply, and walk farther into the kitchen."What makes you say so?" she asks with a shy smile."Because I am a jerk and you still went to lunch with me," I reply."I don't think you are a jerk," she shrugs her shoulder.
AmyI am so nervous when I get out of the kitchen. My body is still excited from the recent touches that Jace has been giving me. My legs are wobbly and I am slightly giddy. I wanted to ignore the call and go on with the Jace's rewarding and all that he has in store for me, but mom hasn't called me for a while. She could have something important to tell me."Hello, Amy. I'm sorry if I am disturbing you, switie," her voice is sweet and apologetic as ever."No, mom. It's fine. I wasn't that busy," I lie. I was actually very busy. Oh, and I have a man in my kitchen. I wonder what mom would say about that."I have a work seminar on Wednesday. It is going to be held in town where you are, so I want to visit you after," she says."That would be great, mom. I really miss you," I tell her."I miss you too, dear. That is why I can't miss this chance to see you in your new apartment," she says." Me too. I have a lot of things that I want to ta
JaceIt is quite dark when I leave Amy's apartment. I wanted to stay or drag Amy home with me, but I don't want to be the clingy type of boyfriend. I want to give her some breathing space even though our bodies demand the closeness to each other. I want to hold her till we say goodbye to the sun and good morning to it when we wake up but Amy and I are still new in our relationship. We need to give each other space so we can make sensible decisions. Amy has a job that requires a lot of her attention. I also need her attention. She has to decide on how to satisfy both our needs.I got her phone number. I couldn't make the mistake of going back home without it. Now I can go home with a peaceful mind knowing that I can reach her by just putting on my phone. My car still has her sweet smell. I wish she was in here driving with me to our home. It will be our home soon. I will make sure that happens. We could reach home and I would kiss her until we reach our bedroom. I don't
