CHAPTER THIRTY-EIGHT

ADELIA

 My eyes fluttered open and saw the familiar part of the great forest. It has been a few hours since we left the Pack of Talascar, and looking outside, it seemed that we were already near the territory of Emoresi.

I squinted my eyes before letting out a small yawn. All I could remember was getting inside the car with Lewis. I did not realize I fell asleep, and for a few hours at that. Thinking about this made my face turn warmer, especially when I stole a glance at the driver’s seat.

To my surprise, it was a young woman with flaming red hair who was driving the car. My eyes widened because before I fell asleep, it was Lewis who was driving the car.

“Are you awake?” Suddenly, I heard someone say from above me. Hurriedly, I lifted out my chin to see Lewis’ face a few inches from mine. My eyes widened even more as my cheeks flushed red.

“Ah,” I softly mumbl
