  CHAPTER THIRTY-NINE

ADELIA

I have a small and humble house in the outskirts of the town. One could say that it was one of the worst locations in the territory. However, it was also the cheapest and the only place I could afford with my salary at the flower shop in the nearest human town.

Although it was not much, for me, it was my home, my safe place that I go home to everyday.

To see it in a state of shamble... it was shocking and hurting. I closed my eyes and took a deep breath.

'Why would they do this?' I thought to myself. 'It's only been two days since I was gone... why would they destroy my home?'

I opened my eyes and once again saw my devastated house. The door and windows were all broken. My personal things were smashed and crushed, and my small selection of clothing were torn apart.

'Was it father? Before he attended the gathering, he came here and broke my table already,'  I thought. Inside my chest
