Chapter 45- A fate worse then death

I stared at him in shock, the king wasn't what I expected, he was a young man who seemed to be in his late forties. His question caught me off guard, and I stared at him in horror.

“Your Highness, I…i..” I stammered as I was at a loss for words, he asked me the question like I was at fault, I had no idea of the answer.

“Give her space, you would kill the poor girl with how intense you are,” the queen chipped in as she walked towards us and stood next to her husband.

She was a young woman who appeared to be in her early forties but she still looked beautiful.

“Then let's sit then, this situation can't wait,” the king said as he strolled out of the room, I looked at him confused. The last time I saw the messenger he informed me, that the king didn't care about the war as far as it didn't involve a rebellion against him.

But it didn't seem like it, I mean he blurted out questions at me without even offering me anything or pleasantries, he seemed anxious and scared.
