Chapter 109

Ashley's POV

I wasn't up for dinner, so when they called me for dinner, I declined. I just wanted to be alone and most importantly, I wanted to know Becca's condition. I still could not get the picture of her falling out of my head.

Sitting on my bed, I pulled my knees to my chest and hugged my legs tightly. What have I done? Just like Regan said, I must have forgotten my place indeed.

There came a sudden knock at the door, making me jump out of my bed.

"My lady, the Prince asked for you. I am here to lead you on." A guard announced.

"Will he cut me some slacks! I just want to be alone," I yelled in my head as I walked towards the door.

The guard led me through different lobbies and we finally burst into the courtyard. The Prince was standing, using his crutches. He was watching the full moon.

The guard bowed and took his leave. I did my bows too with my arms folded behind me. He gazed at me for a long time before looking away.
