Ashley's POV

My eyes burned with tears, I almost ran after Regan, but I didn't. I apologized and did all I could but he didn't forgive me. Running after him wouldn't make him change his mind.

Blinking hard, I attacked the food I had rejected earlier. I devoured it like a maniac, littering the whole table.

When I was done, I walked down to my room and locked myself in. I was disturbed and restless. I paced up and down the room, thinking about what to do.

I would be going out tonight, I had to resume at Asher's order, but the Dowager's men might be lurking around again.
