Chapter 89

Ashley's POV

My body ached from the day's ordeal. Mr Park ensured that I finished up my rounds before letting me off the hook. He did not tell me why he punished me and I decided not to ask.

Despite the ache in my body, I could hardly sleep. My head was bubbling with recent events and I just couldn't grasp it at a go. I would be meeting the man behind the veil today. I felt a little giddy about it. But apart from a shitty leadership position, meeting him was the reason why I agreed to the mission.

It was time to leave. I jumped out of my bed and made it into the cold night. Once I was out of the barrack, I took to my heels.

Like the wind, I filtered through the woods without making any sound. I was trained for it.

I arrived earlier as instructed by Zane and I was surprised to see Zane and Shawn, they were already waiting when I got there. They bowed as soon as they saw me and I grimaced.
