I couldn't believe the demon king spared her life. I was shocked at the same time I felt confused.

When I looked up, I noticed the python demon looking down at me seriously.

"Thank you." The woman behind me whispered while the demon generals left the room.

I stood up and faced her as she did the same.

At first I was in doubt that she was human, but when she wrote the name of our gods on my palm, I realized there and then that she really was. Because all demons knew of our gods, but there was never a day they wrote or called out their names. According to myths and stories, a demon who dared to call upon their names or write it down, faced a calamity.

"I don't know why you are here but I'll tell you this honestly. The demon king doesn't hesitate to do as he pleases, mostly when he is angered. Today is the first time that he has shown mercy to a human without the demon python's plea. Next time he won't hesitate to kill any one of us if he is angered again." I said s
