Chapter 69

Ose's p.o.v

I reached the door to my bedchamber and the door opened by itself.

I hesitated before going in.

Clair was sitting on the ground with her hands pressed on each side of her head.

I stood still for a second then approached her and stood in front.

She dropped her hands and looked at me seriously.

"Have you come to a decision?" I asked seriously.

"No. A warrior does not leave other warriors behind. Even if I decided to leave, it wouldn't make me feel at ease. I could inform their parents that their children are still alive yet watch them live in worry over how they would survive in this territory. If I stay, then we will all be thought of as dead and our parents would be very heartbroken." She answered with a sad expression on her face.

She looked conflicted and somehow pale. It made me want to sympathize with her.

"I have another deal for you," I said calmly.
