Chapter 70

Ducan's p.o.v

I walked into Eleanor's bedchamber without knocking and found her asleep on the bed.

She looked peaceful and beautiful with her eyes closed.

"It's a relief," I whispered to myself with a smile then moved closer, carefully sitting next to her.

I wanted to check up on her and see if she was panicking as Ose had made me think.

Luckily she wasn't.

I moved my hand and brushed the side of her cheek gently admiring the softness of her skin.

She frowned slightly then sighed softly.

"Ducan." She called in a sleepy voice.

"Yes, it's me," I answered softly.

"You need to rest, what are you doing awake?" She muttered as I laughed then stood up and went around the bed to lay on the other side.

Once I was laying down, I pulled her in my arms and rested my head against hers feeling calm.

"I only came to check up on you. Also, I didn't want to make you feel uncomfortable, that's why I didn't want to lay next to you." I whispered softly then shifted a bit and kissed her head.
