DON'T TRUST

My cheeks flushed as Jake grabbed my hand.

“Thanks for the invite, Elise.”

I cut my gaze to him, knowing well that nobody had invited him of any of them. They’d all just decided to come once they figured out that Elise had invited me over. They weren’t about to let me out of their sight, and after earlier, I didn’t want them to either.

“Come on,” Elise said, pulling me through the crowd. “I want you to meet Gregor.”

“Gregor,” I repeated.

I had only seen her boyfriend a couple of times in passing. He seemed to stay out of the crowd and the drama in Blood moon, and I didn’t blame him. I didn’t want Elise to be messed up in all the craziness. She’d already had a shit time, growing up, from bullies who joked about the scars from a werewolf attack on her chest.
