Caleb winced. He noted the venom in my eyes and took my hand.
“I am not your enemy. Why are you shooting me down?”
It was my turn to look contrite. “I am sorry.” I turned my head to the second-floor landing and saw Tony standing there, hands in his front pockets, staring at me.
