CHAPTER SIX

Anger. Hurt, the feeling of utter betrayal from whom she'd least expected it was murderous. It was a rush of intense emotions, indescribable except for the tiny stream of tears that stained her now hollow cheeks. The one person that she'd grown up with was a despicable human being. Wait, that wasn't right, there was no way on earth he was human. He was a fucking monster. And no she wasn't overreacting, it just hurt like a bitch.

She fell to the floor on her knees, then gathering the hem of her tattered red jacket together in several squeezes, startling the old man that stood somewhat beside her. He could swear her knuckles were going to bleed from the strain.

"Are you okay?" He asked out of unsolicited concern. He could hear her slightly sniffle, before going to wipe at her eyes with the sleeves of the jacket.

"I'm… I'm fine. Thank you." She said through small sniffles before picking up herself from the ground. She bit back a scream from her hurting ankle that looked bruised and
