Chapter Seventy-Four

Celeste has been quiet all day.

I could feel the anger and self hatred coming from her, and no matter how much I tried to convince her that she did her best, it didn’t work.

It was easy being strong for someone when it meant ignoring your own reality.

Today was the last part of the ritual. Which meant this night was the night.

The night my powers would be taken from me and Celeste would be dead. She wouldn’t be able to handle my powers being gone. That was her essence.

I sat on the edge of my bed, staring out of the window. It was a rather quiet day. I pleaded with Shawn to spare Chris and James, but he kicked me instead.

He said he was going to show me. I shivered. I do not want to know what’s going to happen.

Celeste wasn’t answering me, and I’ve been forced to… surrender.

Give it up. The dreams of having my own life. Of defeating Shawn and Lola. I had to give up everything, including my dreams of having a family with James, and our little kids running
