Matthew swung his sword around like crazy while killing off a few of the scorpions while Rose was firing blasts of wind and pushed away the scorpions. The scorpions were not focused on them so it was pretty easy to pick them off.
Not long after, they finally arrived at where the people were but to Matthew’s surprise one of them was very familiar to him. “Isaac?” He said in a surprised tone.
The boy that heard his name got called out turned around in surprise as well. “Matthew?”
“Save the chit-chat, we gotta find a way out of this!” A girl from Isaac’s group said.
“IS there a way out of THIS?!” A boy from Isaac’s group said. He then had to block an incoming scorpion soldier’s punch.
The scorpion soldiers were built like tanks. Their armour was much thicker and tougher than the worker scorpions. Their pincers w
Spiders webs filled the ceilings and corners. Isaac entered the room along with Mira. Mira was holding a small ball of fire in her left hand, lighting the room up.It had a bed on the right, a large wardrobe beside it, a drawer on the other side and a chair by the large window. The glass on the windows are either shattered or scratched. The mattress was dusted with sand and was even torn up.The floor was also littered with sand. Isaac and Mira slowly walked around the room and examined it. The wool carpet was barely visible under it.“Why are we checking every single room of this castle?” Mira asked.“You never know what you’ll find.” Isaac said.“There’s hundreds of rooms in this place. It’s gonna take hours until we’re done.”“Hahaha relax. It’s not like anyone’s gonna come here
TAP! TAP! TAP! TAP!Matthew’s and Cecilia’s footsteps echoed in the dark hallway of the basement. There was no light source at all. They only relied on Matthew’s sword to light the way ahead. The iron bars were rusted all over as well as the shackles and chains lying on the ground behind those bars.“You know, I could use light magic.” Cecilia said.“Huh? You can?” Matthew’s eyes widened in surprise.“Well yeah, since Divine Magic is based off of light and holy elements.”“Oh, I see. That’s okay though, you don’t have to do that.” Matthew said.“But what about your mana? Won’t it run out?”“Isn’t it the same to you? I heard that light magic uses more mana than most other magic.” Matthew glanced at Cecilia before facing b
Lawen and Apoel were sitting down in front of each other with their backs resting against the wall in a hallway on the first floor of the castle. It was similar to the second floor that Isaac and Mira were in charge of investigating. Instead of bedrooms, the first floor was more like an administration floor.Offices, meeting rooms, throne rooms, a library and other facilities that seemed to be specifically for the royalties’ personal use. Of course, all of them were filled with sand and had deteriorated over time.“There’s loads of things to check man. How are we going to look through them all?” Lawen said.“With time, my friend, with time.” Apoel calmly replied. “How many rooms have we checked?”“I don’t know man, 15? 16?”“And how many more to go?”“What are you asking me fo
Three out of four pairs had been told of their situation, that leaves one more. Yuki and Rose were standing in front of a wall in a huge hall. Sunlight from the castle’s open courtyard illuminated the entire hall brightly in orange hue due to the sun setting. Their necks were aching a bit since they had been staring at the wall for a while. Their brains were processing what they were seeing. “What do you think, Yuki?” Rose asked while glancing at her. “Well, if this is a dungeon or a temple or ruin it would make sense to see this here but we’re in a castle. Who would put this in a castle?” Yuki’s eyebrows curled, showing her face of confusion. “Hmm whoever made this mural, what could they mean?” Rose looked back at the wall. Both of them continued to observe it, trying to decipher the very well done mural that was made with black ink. The mural stretched throughout the
Kaled Ameer.I am just an ordinary man with big dreams as any other young men would have. I dreamt of becoming the greatest mage in history and possibly, forever. For the past decade, I had been studying magic arts to the best of my abilities including alchemy. I had only gotten the idea of writing a diary in a book just a few days before I write here from my newest master.Of course, my other masters also told me to always keep notes and jot down everything new I learnt but my current master said that it would be wise to keep a diary as well and write in it every once in a while to help vent out anything personal and also keep track of my growth. And so here I am.…..22nd day, winter, 462.This is my 137th entry. I’m not sure how but somehow I got invited to be a member of the Royal Wizards that serve under the king! I am so happy to be honoure
54th day, winter, 464.We're doomed. The king had already gone against the agreement. He had already formed a joint force regiment with the neighboring nations in preparation for the Scarlett King's army's arrival on the battlefield. The same messenger had come and asked the king to have his men ready and they would head out soon. The king, while smirking, told the messenger what he had planned. Now I knew the king had already posted the joint force surrounding the castle including the enemy forces but what the messenger did made me shocked. He said that they had expected this and were more than prepared. Then, IT happened. The king, his offsprings, the guards, the knights, the maids, everyone was screaming in agony as they slowly morphed into an abomination. They grew scales or armour plates, perhaps an exoskeleton. Their arms became blo
“There, it’s behind the wall.” Apoel said while pointing at the mural wall.“Seriously?” Isaac looked over Apoel’s other shoulder as Lawen had already occupied the other one.“I’m tellin’ you man. Look!” Apoel showed it to his comrades. After checking it out many times over, they also came to believe so. “Yeah, the map shows that it’s there.” Isaac said.“But… How are we going to go there?” Cecilia asked.“Well, we could just bust through but that might not be wise.” Matthew said. “Intentionally damaging structures goes against the Hunter policy.”“Indeed, besides, there has to be a way to open it since it IS a vault.” Mira said.“Oh, like banks with padlocks or something?” Isaac asked.&n
Upon hearing the mysterious red haired man, all the Hunters assumed battle stance. Meanwhile the man was just standing there, smiling.“What are you talking about?” Matthew mustered enough courage to ask.“That thing behind you, that is a high-grade Dimensional Crystal.” The man said.“Dimensional Crystal?” Matthew asked further.“It’s a crystal capable of moving anything through dimensions, basically a teleportation device.” Yuki answer instead.“Huh? What are you going to do with that?” Matthew shouted at the man with a threatening tone.“I don’t have to explain it to you Hunters. I’m just going to take what’s ours.” The man held out a hand forward. In almost an instant, the crystal flew in between the Hunters and straight for the man’s hand.&
