Chapter 47. The Savior

Ryn quickly adapted to Denaya. Denaya's motherly nature made her comfortable, so the conversation was enjoyable. Occasionally, Ryn glanced at Albert, who never seemed to let her out of his sight. "Let him go. He's a pain in the ass tonight," Ryn said with pursed lips.

Denaya smiled as she squeezed Ryn's hand.

"People think he's a cold-blooded, cruel man. Ralph and I used to think so. But once we got to know him better, he wasn't what we thought he was." The woman looked at Albert, who was chatting with her husband. "He's our savior," she continued with a genuine smile.

"Yeah, he's a good guy," Ryn said.
