I open my clutch and pay for the coffee. I take the takeaway cup and am about to head out when someone taps my shoulders. "Yes?" I ask him. The person is a man. In his twenties or thirties. Ana's POV: I wake up because of my phone. Groaning , I turn and answer the call while lying in my cozy bed. "Hey." I say. "Are you okay?" Jer says. "Yeah, Why wouldn't I be?" Ana's POV: The day has finally arrived. The day , that I turn not only eighteen, but also a vampire? Probably. I am both happy and nervous to see where it leads me . I turn in my bed and sunlight enters my room, snapping my eyes open. I see Drew, Aunt Sara and Jer holding a cake. I sit up and see all of them grinning. I rub my eyes."Happy birthday!" Chaos. My mind is full of chaos. I have no idea what is happening right now. It's like I am lost inside my mind. I can't even think , the only thing going through my mind is the only family I have. The ride to the art studio is too silent and too suspenseful for me. I had to turn my phone off as it had blown up the second Martin's realized I wasn't nearby. I didn't even had a chance to say goodbye. The knowledge of what I was going to do to Drew . to my friends, it devastated me but I had no choice. Shine. I see a ray of light at first, and then in a second, my eyes open. I take in the scene before me . My family, my aunt Sara lying on the floor as Charlie checks her, all of the family surrounding her and Jer stands nearby, Drew sitting by my side, his face between his hands and he is curled up. I close my eyes and open them again and then it all hits me. The reality and what happened. I get up in whoosh, alarming Drew.He stands before me and I look at him to see his eyes filled with sorrow. I wake up and follow my usual routine and go downstairs to greet Aunt Sara. I pause midstep when I realise that she is no more. A wave of sadness hits me. Then I remember that Drew was supposed to be with me , He was staying with me. I look around to see any signs of Drew but he is nowhere to be found. I panic. My thoughts are scrambled and full of what ifs? What if he's gone too? What if he left me? No. It can't be . He is here. I am just being paranoid. He would never leave me. He is not that type of guy.
