136 - Simp For Her

Maria walked back into the house to find the music which she had wanted Lola to dance to earlier in the morning on the play. Its volume was low and it seemed to be coming from Lola’s room.

“Is she dancing?.” Maria muttered, her face suddenly curving up into a grin as she lessened the intensity of her footsteps against the ground, sounding as light as possible, as she tiptoed to her daughter’s room.

The door was slightly ajar and the music was indeed on inside but contrary to what Maria had expected, Lola wasn’t dancing at all but was on a call with someone, probably Aria cause she heard her mention the word ‘audition.”

Maria turned to return to the living room but Lola had turned at that same moment, noticing her.

“Mom.” She called out and ended the call. “You are back already? Is Richard gone?.” she asked.

“Yes, he is,” Maria responded with a nervous smile. She expected more questions from Lola but the girl only nodded and returned to reading the novel on the bed which made Maria even
