Chapter 103 The One That Saved Her

The tall trees in the dark forest were shades of brown in colour with the strong eerie sound of the wind on its leaves, whistling to me. Words that I could not understand but somehow it felt like the trees were asking me to keep going. I kept walking behind them, finding a safe place to hide.

My knees and feet were hurting wearing those damn heels. But I could not stop. They were catching up fast.

The dark forest of Amberose City was a national treasure. Old but well maintained with funding coming from the rich families living in the city, and that included the Cage and Strauss family.

I stayed behind a large tree to catch my breath. Those men were shooting at me. One of those many shots had grazed my arm, leaving some of my trail of blood behind me.

I held my breath while I removed my hand from my wounded arm. Blood covered the palm of my hand. I removed the scarf covering my neck from the cold and tied it around my bloodied arm with the help of my teeth.
