My answer was definitely making Akira restless. She sat back on her chair and poured herself another glass of water. She drank it slowly and whispered to Vivian to proceed on asking me questions.

Again, she avoided her eyes from looking at me.

“So, Mr Straus. It is a long way to move from Emerald City to Bloom City. What is it that you think you could contribute to the company? Looking at your resume, your past experience differs much from what we are looking for” Vivian asked a question that I could sense she was on my side.

Was she? I looked at Vivian and nodded once before I responded to her, “I’m a fast learner. You have nothing to lose. And I’m offering my services to Miss Cage, anytime she wants me, everywhere she wants me to go and anything she wants me to do”

I guess my words might have made her restless. I could see her holding on to her breath and her eyes were a little sparkly with what looked like tears.

“Thank you, Mr Strauss. I think we are done here”
