Can I Kiss You?

"Do I look like I care? Don't you ever lay your hands on her! Not even a strand of her hair! I really hate it when she cries!" Reed snapped back.

"What?!" Michelle's eyes widened even more. "I hate repeating myself... Got that into your damn skull!"

Reed released her roughly, and she fell to the floor. He grabbed Carly's hand and walked away. Michelle remained on the spot, trying to process what had just happened. "Am I dreaming right?!" she asked no one in particular.

Reed took Carly to a quiet place before letting go of her hand. He then faced her. "Are you okay?" he asked, staring at her bruised lips. She didn't say a word. She was the one who had hurt him; why was he worried about her again?

"Carly," he said, tapping her. She snapped out of her thoughts. She nodded and bit her lips. "I just wanted to apologize for what I did yesterday. I didn't mean to scare you... I'll just stay away from now on. Maybe we aren't meant to be friends," he said and turned to leave.

"Wait..." Carly c
