“You have five seconds to get your cute butt here or I won’t be reliable for my next actions,” River (sexily) threatened me as he stood at the side of the frozen lake, hands on his hips, and a raised brow at me.

“But I’ve always been bad at ice skating! You know this!” I reasoned out to him, remembering just about every other time we’ve ice skated and ended up in a disaster also known as me with bruises on my butt (that luckily healed fast).

If I hadn’t told River a few days ago that I wished I could be good at it like Wynter and Elura then he wouldn’t have had this amazing idea to drag me all the way here, so I guess it’s kind of my fault then.

River’s eyes smoldered as he stared at me longer. My jaw clenched at the way it felt like he was pulling me to him just by the way he looked at me.

We had managed to escape the mandatory run this morning when we pretended to get lost in the track, then we deviated from the route and ended up here. I thought it was a coincidence, b
