I paced the room, lost in thoughts.

My mind whirled with different scenarios and it made a tight knot to form at the pit of my stomach. I drew in a long breath as I slipped on the chair by the window.

Over the last weeks, I had kept my eyes on Mirabel, watching her movements closely. I couldn't trust her anymore ever since I found out the truth. Not only Mirabel, I had my eyes on Selene and Noah too.

Those two really bothered me and I tried my best to monitor them without coming across as sneaky.
