Jane had woken up from her nap and Damon was nowhere to be found, she quickly glanced over at the wall clock and it was past midnight.

‘’He should have returned by now’’ She had not intended to sleep for such a long time. She walked over to the bathroom to relieve herself when she noticed a suitcase close to hers. It was that of Damon, if this was here that meant he was over-rounding up on some work in his study. Jane knew he had not made use of the one in the room so as not to disturb her. She went in and did her business before stepping.

She still felt so sleepy, that rather than going and disturbing him, she decided to go back to bed. She made a mental note to ask about her travel destination first thing in the morning. But what she had not anticipated was waking up to an empty room. His luggage was gone and the maid had confirmed he left when she was fast asleep.
