ARABELLA POV

It was judgment day. It felt weird thinking about it that way but I couldn’t help it. An hour ago, a few guards had practically pushed me out of the cell to an upturned stage. It was the meeting place of the townsmen and women, come to decide my fate. Rhys looked at me once, and then away. He refused to meet my eyes after that, which was embarrassing to me. I knew if asked him to leave and never come back, but to see that he was actually keeping to it was depressing.

The place was stacked with people, including the family of the deceased. Mia was sitting at the front row so she could snap support to her husband, even though the said husband was doing everything else but attending to her returning her waves.

“Take her out!” Someone in the crowds screamed. “Take her out now!”

They had meant to kill me. They would have done it if Rhys was not there. His presence softened the blow. They can’t attack me straight up when their Alpha was there, so they settled for screaming at

I hope Rhys will really step up and figure this out. Especially since she pretty much accused Mia of this wrongdoing. He really needs to be redeeming himself. He didn’t even properly interview Lily. Curious to know if his Beta is willing to go down with Mia.
