Chapter Thirty

The evening ends on a festive note. Music, food and drinks…. everything is in excess and everyone seems to be happy. Or at least most people. I guess these people must have been pretty desperate for a Luna. Somehow, the mood of the night has gotten to me too, and I find myself smiling naturally and swaying to the music from my seat on the high table. After the ceremony, I had been led to a backroom where I'd been changed from the mighty ceremonial ball gown to the mermaid style dress that I'm to use for the after-party.

Draaven and I had opened the dance floor and as we had taken the stage, my body leaning into his and his hand placed at the small of my back as we rocked to the music, for a minute there, it had felt real. Like this was a real wedding and this was what I wanted. But of course it isn't. And I had made sure not to dwell too much on that emotion. Afterwards, I had danced with my mum and Trish.
