After meeting Matt’s son and the awkward conversation I had with him, I quickly returned to Enzo’s arms.

“Babe, you took too long. Something happened? Is everything alright?”

I smile at him budding concern as I say, “Yes, honey. I’m fine. When I came out of the bathroom, I found a little boy outside, lost.”

Ethan frowns and says, “That’s strange. We always ask families who attend with children to keep their eyes on them and that an adult must always accompany the little ones. Usually it is a quiet restaurant, but you know Enzo, how adults are when there is a bar involved.”

I watch as Enzo nods as he says, “Yes. You can have extra security, but things always happen that are beyond management’s control.”

Then he turns his gaze to me, while saying, “and what happened to the little one? Were you able to help him?”
