25: All roads leads back

My lashes pull apart at the ray of sunlight penetrating through the white thin curtain at the window and illuminating the room.

A long moan leaves my mouth as I twist and turn in bed, coming into consciousness of my surrounding. I spend the next minute that passes staring up at my white painted ceiling, giving it my undivided attention because I have all the time in the world. Graduation was a few days ago, so I'm home with nothing to do but to be lazy around. I am, however, not complaining.

I drag myself up to sit down on the bed and I run my hand over my face then turn around to check the time. Seven forty-nine a.m. reads the time.

"Jaclyn, I'm off to work. Your breakfast is in the kitchen." Mama's voice came charging into my room. 

"Okay, ma, thank you. Have a great day at work."

"Thank you, stay safe." I hear the door shut and I know she already left.
