Chapter 33: The Search

LUCAS POV

I flung the phone on the bed, cursing under my breath. “How did I get myself entangled in this mess?” I muttered, walking over to the breakfast table where the lady from room service had just designed the table with some meal.

The door opened and Allysa walked out, her eyes moving from my face to the table. “I see you finally ordered.” She teased, picking up her phone and walking to the couch close to the window. “And just so you know I wasn't joking about going to karaoke.” She added. I rolled my eyes, groaning and wondering how I got caught in a web with such a girl.

“You're gonna tell grandma if I don't so chill I'll come along.” I replied and began eating my food. “You're just scared of losing your position and scared of the shame that'll come with it, it's simple.”

“Don't act like you know me, you don't. You really don't know me.” She chuckled then turned properly to look at me. “I don't know you but I know how people like you think, you're so readable.”
