Chapter 71: Guilt

ALLYSA'S POV

She was still texting him? Mouth felt sour and dry and tears pooled in my eyes again, why's all these happening and why now?

I placed his phone on the bedside table and pulled the duvet over my body before closing my eyes. It took a long time before I could finally sleep and the next moment I opened my eyes, a little sunlight was pouring in through the window.

I turned to look at Lucas but his spot was empty and the shower was running in the bathroom.

I got out of bed and walked out of the bedroom, “Good morning ma'am.” Benny greeted, walking past me as she made her way into the kitchen.

“Morning Benny, did you just wake up?”

“Yes ma'am, do you wanna prepare breakfast? I can__”

“I'll prepare it with your assistance.” I replied and she nodded smiling. I noticed she loves cooking and was sometimes sad whenever I decided to cook.

After preparing breakfast, we set the table and few minutes later, Lucas walked down the stairs.
