Mabel pov.

I was in the sitting room, waiting patiently for Stefan, though I saw his letter in the morning where he told me that he would be visiting the investigator and that he would arrive home late, but I was curious, I wanted to hear how his meeting with the investigator went before I can sleep peaceably with the full mind that the culprit would be found and I can proof my friends wrong for not trusting me.

I began to doze off on the single sitter, but woke up immediately when I heard the opening of the door, I knew it would be Stefan because I wasn't expecting anyone and moreover, it was night already.

"Hey." I greeted and ran to him.

"You suppose to be sleeping Mabel." He said, tucking his hands into his hair. He doesn't seemed okay to me, he seemed stressed out and tired.

"Go and shower, I will prepare your dinner, I'm sure that you are hungry." I muttered to him.

"Mabel....."

"Just go, we can talk tomorrow, trust me, you will rest after dinner." I said, cutting him off.
