First Tears

“You’re not staying for the night again?" Takang tanong ko habang sinusundan ng tingin si Elijah na nagbibihis. It’s been 3 days, umuuwi lang ito para magbihis at harapin ako.

“Mamita needs me”. Tumingin ito sa gawi ko. I saw the sadness in his eyes. Ilang araw ko na ding napapansing balisa ito o sadyang stress lang sa trabaho.

“I’m sorry–I can’t…I can’t bring you there…No…I can, but I don’t want to hurt you. Hindi ko alam kung anong magagawa ko kapag nakita kita–”.

His eyes were soft while looking with mine. I pushed my lips to smile.

“Baby, you know I–

Umiling ito. I know what he is trying to say.

I walk towards him. His eyes full of senserity.

“Mamita, mabait naman siya at ikaw…you are the purist ang the kindest person I ever had. I want her to see you like that.
