In the rain

I did not want to do this. I didn’t want to follow them both here and stare at them from across the street like some stalker while they both had their cutesy little date in the cafe by the window. I had no intention of acting like a creep yet my legs brought me here on their own.

I gulped and clenched my fists tight to stop myself from doing anything irrational. But, at the same time, I couldn’t look away from them. My heart ached, shattering over and over again the more I looked at them. They sat across from each other, enjoying their time in their own bubble.

The clouds that had assembled in the sky cast a shadow so wide it dimmed the environment and I could tell it was going to rain soon.
