I sniffed the air. Scarlett's sweet aroma invaded my nostrils, sending all of my senses into a frenzy. They must be hiding in the bushes. I sauntered over to the crowded foliage and sniffed once again.

I knew that they were there. Once again, I caught a whiff of her delicious fragrance, but much to my annoyance, it was adulterated with the scent of another. Was it that bodyguard? My nose flared. She was too comfortable around him. I tried to follow my nose to find her, but I guess I was too late. They must have left. I realised that the scent was getting fainter as time ticked by so I returned to look for Georgette. However, she too was gone by the time I returned.

My conscience told me that it wasn't wise to stay on Crimson Crescent's territory anymore. I was lucky that Peter had trusted me enough to guard this side of the land. For all these years, he didn't think that I was a potential danger to him, but I knew that I should never let my guard down.
