Chapter 3

For a few moments, they stood there in silence, neither of them knowing what to say. Finally, Lucas spoke up.

"Samantha, I'm sorry," he said, his voice filled with regret.

"I should have never rejected you. I should have stood by you, no matter what."

Samantha looked at him, her heart aching with emotion.

She had loved Lucas once, but now that she was a werewolf, she didn't know if they could ever be together again.

"Lucas, I don't know what to say," she said, her voice trembling. "I still love you, but things are different now.

I have children, and I'm a werewolf. I can't just go back to the way things were before."

Lucas nodded, his expression understanding. "I know," he said. "But I want to be there for you, Samantha.

"I want to be a father to our children."

Samantha felt a lump form in her throat.

She had never wanted to keep her children from their father, but she had been afraid of what the pack would do if they found out about them.

"I want that too, Lucas," she said, her voice barely above a whisper. "But we have to be careful. The pack can never find out about them."

Lucas nodded again, his expression serious. "I'll do whatever it takes to protect them, Samantha," he said. "I won't let anything happen to them."

Samantha felt a sense of relief wash over her, she knew that she could trust Lucas to keep their children safe, but she also knew that she had to be careful around him.

He was still a part of the pack that rejected her, and she didn't know if she could trust him to keep her secret.

For the next few days, Samantha stayed hidden with her children, trying to figure out what to do.

She knew that she had to decide her future, but she didn't know if she was ready to become Alexander's queen.

Meanwhile, Ethan and Emma had been struggling with their secret. They had inherited their father’s werewolf genes and although Samantha had told them about their werewolf heritage, they were forbidden from revealing their true nature to anyone.

Samantha had been trying her limited best to prepare and teach them how to control and adapt their abilities, but they were both still young and inexperienced.

One night, while Samantha was out hunting, Ethan and Emma decided to go for a walk in the woods.

They had been cooped up inside for days, and they wanted to stretch their legs.

As Ethan and Emma walked through the woods, they couldn't help but feel a sense of curiosity about their werewolf heritage.

Their mother had taught them everything she knew, but they still had so many questions.

As they walked deeper into the woods, they stumbled upon a stranger who seemed to know a lot about werewolves.

The stranger was friendly and eager to answer all of their questions, but Emma was hesitant to trust them.

Ethan, on the other hand, was excited to finally learn more about his roots and didn't think there was any harm in talking to the stranger.

As they chatted, the stranger revealed some information about their family history that Samantha had never shared with them before.

Ethan and Emma were shocked and felt a mix of emotions, from excitement to confusion.

They couldn't wait to tell their mother about what they had learned, but at the same time, they knew they had broken her trust by talking to a stranger about their heritage.

When they returned home, they kept the conversation a secret, not wanting to upset their mother.

But curiosity continued to burn within them, and they couldn't help but wonder what other secrets their family history held.

They knew they needed to find a way to satisfy their curiosity without breaking their mother's trust again.

As they hurried home, they heard a noise behind them, and they turned to see a group of wolves approaching them.

The wolves were snarling and snapping, and Ethan and Emma knew that they were in trouble.

They tried to shift into their lycan forms, but they couldn't control it.

They were stuck in their human form, and they knew that they couldn't defend themselves.

Just as the wolves were about to attack, a figure emerged from the trees, and it was none other than Alexander, the Lycan King.

He didn't hesitate for a moment. He lunged at the wolves, his powerful body taking them down one by one.

Within seconds, the threat was neutralized, and Ethan and Emma were safe.

They looked at Alexander with awe, realizing just how powerful he was. He was a true leader and a protector.

As they made their way back to Samantha, they couldn't help but wonder if Alexander would make the right choice for their mother.

He had just saved their lives, but they still didn't know much about him.

When they arrived back at their hiding place, Samantha was relieved to see them unharmed.

But she could tell that something was different about them.

"What happened?" she asked, her eyes scanning their faces for any signs of injury.

Ethan and Emma looked at each other, unsure of how to explain what had happened.

Finally, Ethan spoke up. "We were walking in the woods, and we ran into some wolves," he said. "They were going to attack us, but then a certain Alexander showed up and took care of them."

Samantha's eyes widened in surprise, Alexander had saved her children's lives? She couldn't believe it.

"Are you okay?" she asked, her voice full of concern.

Ethan and Emma nodded, still in shock from the encounter. Samantha hugged them tightly, grateful that they were safe.

As the days went on, Samantha found herself drawn to Alexander more and more.

She couldn't deny the attraction she felt toward him, but she was still hesitant to become his queen.

One day, as she was out hunting, she came across a group of Lycans, they were discussing the recent attacks on their pack.

They were blaming it on a rogue werewolf, but Samantha knew better.

She realized that they were from Lucas’s pack, the one that had rejected her.

Samantha’s mind raced as she tried to make sense of the situation.

Why were they attacking now? Had they come back for revenge? Or had they found out about her and her children? Whatever their motive, she knew that she had to act fast to protect her children.

She rushed back to their hiding place and told them what she had discovered.

"We have to leave," she said, her voice urgent.

"The pack knows about us, and they're coming for us. We have to go into hiding."

Ethan and Emma nodded, understanding the danger they were in, they quickly gathered their things and followed their mother into the woods.

As they walked, Samantha couldn't help but think about Alexander.

She knew that he could protect them, but she was still unsure if she could trust him.

Suddenly, they heard a howl in the distance, and Samantha knew that they were being followed.

She urged her children to run faster, but it was too late.

A group of werewolves emerged from the trees, snarling and snapping. They had found them.

Samantha's fur bristled as she shifted into her lycan form, her muscles rippling with strength and power.

She let out a fierce growl, warning the approaching wolves to stay back.

But they were relentless, charging towards her with bared fangs and glowing eyes.

Samantha leaped forward, her sharp claws glinting in the moonlight as she swiped at the nearest werewolf.

She felt the satisfying crunch of bone as her claws connected, the other werewolves hesitated for a moment, surprised by Samantha's ferocity.

but it wasn't enough to stop the onslaught.

The wolves circled her, closing in on her and her children. Samantha's heart pounded in her chest, as she realized she was outnumbered and outmatched.

But she refused to give up. As the wolves closed in, Samantha's mind raced, trying to come up with a plan.

She bared her teeth and let out a deafening roar, hoping to intimidate the wolves.

Just when all hope seemed lost, as Samantha and her children braced themselves for the inevitable attack, the ground shook beneath them as Alexander's massive form burst through the trees.
